Thanks, I'll give that a try. The wire to the 25A fuse looks a bit ratty.

Another question: the #85 terminal on the relay is the + voltage to the relay coils, yes? Looking at the Bentley wiring diagram, it seems to come from the ECU. So: does the ignition switch energize the ECU, which then provides voltage to close the relay(s)? If so, then I'm still suspecting the ignition switch.

The battery drain seems to be a separate issue. I discovered that if I disconnect the main switched power to my cheap Chinese CD player, the unit will continue to operate off of the constant voltage line (which is supposed to just maintain the clock setting, etc.)
