Heater control valves, now part metal again? 700

I ordered a new heater control valve from FCP Groton. Just an ordinary order, for the normal heater control valve for a 1991 745 Turbo. What they sent was an MTC valve, in a blue box, and the valve was half metal, and half plastic. Just like the old Volvo valves. Anyone else receive a similar valve lately? Wouldn't it be great if MTC is making the valves the old way again, and they are as strong as they should be?

The FCP web site still shows a photo of the old, all plastic, Scantech valves they used to sell. Those things were pure junk. The reason that I ordered the replacement valve, above, is that a 6 month old Scantech was starting to seep around a seam.

Let's hope.
