Do it before the mirror falls off, both of mine did. One time a friend slammed the door and I heard a tinkling sound as it hit the ground and broke. I spent 30 minutes trying to find a replacement mirror, never did. Pick and pull wanted $35 for the entire mirror assembly which i bought because I never could just find the mirror part. Later my drivers side mirror started to wobble, before I had the thought of, lets see if i can pry the old one off and reglue it, it fell and broke on the ground. I found a small angular mirror by itself for $10 at Pep boys and used epoxy to glue it back on with some balled up paper towels and tape to keep the mirror in place while it dried. It looks funny because it uses only about two thirds of the previous space that the regular mirror used. Been four months now.
