You should begin pushing the choke in slowly after the car starts. Push it in about 2/3 of the way and leave it there until it's warmed up which is usually about 4-5 minutes tops. If it is acting as you say after it is warmed up and the choke is in, then it is running too rich. Check to make sure the jets are moving all the way up when the choke is pushed in. It's not unusual for them to stick in the down position thus making the car run very rich. -- Lubricate your distributer!
