There is a connector block on the drivers side fender just behind the battery.
However I would lean more at at looking at the fuse box, and wiring to the steering column. Start by purchasing a test light or test meter at a local auto parts store. Then prepare for taking off the panels on the drivers side and the cardboard/cloth kick panel under the dash. Held up by 2 plastic 90 degree turn screw tabs that sit in clips on the firewall , There also is a peice of rubber around the fresh air duct to the left of the brake pedal. That pulls down and out, then pull the rubber strip along the door frame partly off, pull up the bottom door trim, it pops off, then you can yank out the kick panel and fusebox cover. I personally hate the fusebox, it is hard to get the fuses in and they all appear to corrode easily which the only cure is to literally rotate the fuses in place many times to cause the ends of them to clear up. Often you may discover that is the problem....
