The actual process is called ultrasonic welding, ie. shake the crap out of both sides in opposite directions to allow friction to create heat. The parts truly weld together and bond on a polymer chain level... not just at the surface like "chemical/solvent" welding. The joint itself is probably stronger than the rest of the part. jorrell -- 92 245 250K miles, IPD'd to the hilt, 06 XC70, 00 Eclipse custom Turbo setup...currently taking names and kicking reputations!
