92 245 Torque converter failure??? 200

Did you replace the converter when you had the trans rebuilt? I have bought some aftermarket and reman converters over the years and for the most part, have had good luck with them. I have had one that the sprag would not disengage, and several that had the same shudder that you mention. I have been advised (By Ford/Lincoln/Mercury) to try a fluid additive, but it wound up having to have a new converter. I know it's a bear of a job, but do you have a known good converter? There is normally nothing for the end user to repair with a torque converter. Have you checked the bolts to make sure that they are not loosening up?
