New O2 sensor and flame trap = LOST ALL POWER! 700

I bought a 92 745 non-turbo, 220K about a month ago. Regina system. I've driven it a couple thousand miles already, and the car runs great, gets around 23 mpg.

It failed emissions, though, and the O2 sensor looks ancient, so I thought I'd give it a new one. I installed the new sensor tonight, not a universal, but the real thing, made by Walker. While I was at it, I removed and cleaned the oil breather box, and installed a new flame trap kit.

Now the car runs like a DOG. It has zero power unless the pedal is ALL the way on the floor. In retrospect, I wish I hadn't messed with anything but the O2 sensor, because now I don't know whether:

1. Something is bad in the FI system and the (presumably) bad old O2 sensor actually helped.

or

2. I broke something/knocked something loose when I did the whole oil breather box thing.
a. I had to remove the idle air valve, as well as the main air intake hose to get to the breather box. I'm PRETTY SURE I put it all back the way I found it.
b. The vacuum line for the flame trap was routed to a tiny little nipple, while another vacuum line, which runs over to what looks like a sensor on the the fender well near the diagnostics port, was connected to a larger nipple. I thought the flame trap needs the larger nipple, so I switched them. Do I have that backwards?

Sorry for the long post. I know I can step through the engine performance section of the FAQ. But I hoped someone may recognize something in my story and be able to shed some light on the situation.

Any ideas or input are welcome.
