Fitting Aftermarket Wheels/Mags 1800

According to my receipts, I have 16 x 8 wheels on my '67 1800S. Sometimes I wonder if they are not actually 16 x 7, but everything indicates 16 x 8 (the previous owner had them installed). They are American Racing Torq Thrust II mags and they look awesome--I get compliments on them all the time. I am running 195 width tires in front, and 205's in the rear (50 aspect ratio in both cases). This, from my experience, is quite narrow for an 8" rim width, but they do not appear stretched (which is why I wonder if the rims are not actually 7"!). The tires to not rub at all, that is, at least since I replaced the rear shocks. I am not sure about the backspacing, nor do I know if I can even figure that out. Caliper clearance in the front is close, but sufficient. Again, the look of 16's on these cars with some nice meaty tires just can't be beat!
