Have I gone Crazy? There was a 123GT on eBay last night 120-130

"I guess the difference between the "Export model not US Export Model" would explain the lack of head restraints, side reflectors, soft switch knobs, underdash pad, door handles etc., right?"

Mostly true... but FWIW there were some '68 US Exports that did not have all of the US-only features you mention. I personally bought a new '68 in April of that year that did not have side markers or wobbly knobs. The key here was date of manufacture, not the model year. The federally mandated stuff, as I recall, applied to cars born on or after Jan 1, 1968. Obviously, there were a lot of '68 model year 122's produced before that date.

In any case, if this one is not a legitimate GT, I would be surprised. I see absolutely nothing that says it ain't, and a lot of stuff that says it is, not the least of which would be the 5314 "S" code on the ID plate. Yes, I know... you could switch the plate too, but then that makes every 123GT in the entire world a possible fake, doesn't it? Since there are no production records, AFAIK there is no way to positively distinguish the real thing from the wannabee's.
