Headliner repair thoughts 700

It's not as useless as you think. First, this tells me I need to replace the tailgate struts before doing the headliner. The car came with this great piece of wood... :D

Second, the one-way fasteners. Are these the mushroom-shaped things with ribbed stems? If so, I know them well from GM. You can buy these things in bags at NAPA even cheaper than the dealer. I was really surprised to find them there, they are not usually on display. You have to bring in the fastener and ask for the book, they have an album with samples. I don't know if they have the right ones for this, but I sure will find out. By the way, the $2 tool that looks like a bent fork really works wonders for removing the trim undamaged. I thought it was just a junky gimmick until I tried it.

You broke the original headliner and got a replacement from the boneyard? I did the exact same thing with the one I did on my old van. Great minds and all that... :)

I'm wondering if I can figure out a way to forego fabric altogether. I really liked the vinyl headliner on my 245...
