erratic engine performance (oxygen sensor problem?) 200

Merry Christmas to all of you!

My 1990 240 (238k miles) has twice in the last week momentarily lost power (as if starved for fuel) and once has momentarily lurched slighty forward, as if the engine were given more gas, but I was not accelerating when this happened.

Does anyone know if this is a classic oxygen sensor problem, or if not, then what it miight be?

Thanks!
