The problem is (as I understand it) that an aftermarket cat is a different length (pipe might be a different shape too) than the Volvo one. Therefore, the pipe and the front muffler pipe don't match up correctly. Bear with me as I'm not quite sure of this since it was explained to me over phone by Boston Volvo. I just know the shape of the axle pipe wouldn't work with my system... Let me know if you want the pipe.
