1986 - 740GLE - Need Advice on Timing Belt - Brandnames to Use or Avoid 700

Assuming you have the B230F engine, and not the B234 engne (interference): I have used timing belts from Volvo, AutoZone, VPI parts, and Brand "X". Rolunds, OK. Continental, OK.

They all work, any will get you moving again.

Tensioner? Change with every other timing belt change.

Check for leakage on camshaft and intermediate shaft seals. Replace them while you are in there. Often it is oil on the timing belt that weakens it to where the teeth shear off.

Good Luck,

Bob
