SU Carbs 140-160

Hi again,
I am going to be putting on new(old) HIF6's in place of the Hs6's that are currently on my '72 142. I figured that while I might as well rebuild them before I put 'em on. My question is/are:
A). Where do I find rebuilding kits for SU's? and
B). What can I do to "tweak" them a little for a stock (I believe) engine? I have been reading the Des Hammill book on tuning SU's and think that grinding down the spindle screws on the butterfly to clean up the air flow is a good idea and maybe going with a slightly lighter damper spring. I am assuming that I should stick to stock needle sizes?
Thanks for all or any input.
