It revs between 1200 and 2000 once every 10 to 15 seconds or so. Would this be a faulty air mass meter, or a throttle body? I removed the cable to the air mass meter and the surging did not stop. Oh by the way, there was an acrid smell in the car -- much like burning plastic parts. Could the main computer module have gone? Maybe a relay?
