ATF leak at radiator support 200 1992

Yet another issue with the 92; I noticed a leak when parked on level ground (dry when parked on a hill nose up) that seems to be ATF coming from the center under the radiator support. Trans cooling lines to the side of the radiator seem to be not the source, but it is wet around what appears to be the A/C lines. I'm stumped. Could the radiator/trans cooler be leaking? if so, how do I fix that? thanks, Greg

Try to clean up all traces of the ATF in that area and around the fittings on the rad, then trace the origin of the leak. If it is a failure of the internal ATF cooler in the rad tank, it's hard to see how the ATF would get out of the cooling system - it should show up as scum in the coolant reservoir.

I bet it's an external leak that is then trickling downward to the rad support. Could it be coming from the power steering system? (same fluid)

Yes, it is possible that it is the Power steering that's leaking but I did a cursory visual tracing of the lines to the PS pump and they seemed dry. I wiped the radiator on the fitting side and drove it for a while and they seem not to be the source. The wetness seems to be at what appear to be the AC lines, which sounds crazy, and is why I asked if the radiator/trans cooler would leak. The trans was low on fluid, but since the car is new to me I don't know what the previous level was. Thanks for your input guys, I will have to clean the entire area and watch for red fluid! I'll post an update

"...Could the radiator/trans cooler be leaking? ..."

Possibly. No real fix besides a new radiator.

But could it be the power steering system leaking? It contains ATF also.
