The M47 trans is shorter than the M46, and that length difference is made up in the front section of the driveshaft.
That, and to the best of my knowledge most M46's had u-joints with a 4-bolt flange on the trans output, and the M47 had the big rubber 'Guibo' - and a 3-pronged flange on the trans output.

Calrify.. Are you asking if the Front Pilot shaft all the same so you can use the same Bellhousing and clutch?
Or are you asking about the Shaft setup as it exits teh back of teh trani?

depends on whether or not there is a Flex Joint ...large rubber...between the trans and the drive shaft
Or a U-joint.
M47's have a Flex joint. since you are, using the clutch, actually shifting into 5th gear. The rubber Flex joint dampens.
The front(just behind the Trans) is different.
