last visit: Fri Sep 25 23:27 CST 2009[RELATED]It seems that early 240 front seatbelts are a good fit. There is a good article on this available at:
http://hem.bredband.net/b215872/amazon/downloads/Retractable%20Seatbelts%20in%20Volvo%20Amazon.pdf
I am going to do this myself one day.

last visit: Sat Nov 21 21:14 CST 2009[RELATED]The REAR seat belts used in the front makes it ugly to install. The front belts from any newer car would fit much easier, because they have the loop for the upper B pillar. Existing holes could be reused.
Save the rear belts from the 740 for the rear seats, if you still have the lower latch portion that bolts to the floor.

last visit: Sat Nov 21 06:01 CST 2009[RELATED]Howdy,
There are three threaded holes: two on the B pillar (reel and hanger) and one on the hump (the other end). My car is a sedan but I think the wagon has the same arrangement. I installed the generic belts sold on ebay. They look like copies of VW belts. I had no trouble mounting them. Which mount do you not see? If the upper B pillar, it might be under the upholstered cover.

last visit: Mon Jul 6 19:00 CST 2009[RELATED]Shannon,
I do have the threaded hole on the hump, but that is for the receiver or "latch". Do the reel and the end of the belt opposite the reel both get bolted to the lower hole in the B pillar and the hanger in the top hole?
Thanks for getting back to me. I feel like I am missing something obvious.
Alan

last visit: Sat Nov 21 21:23 CST 2009[RELATED]I don't know 740s...
But, I'm guessing the reel was over the rear seat passengers shoulder under the rear window... so, it would have looped around the clasp and back over the persons lap and down to the floor area...
And if that's how it is, I think that's how you'd have to mount it... reel up top of the B-pillar, around the clasp, then to the point at the bottom of the B pillar
If you had front seat belts, I think reel could/would go at the bottom, then up the B-pillar to a hanger, then over your shoulder, then loop around the clasp, and back to the bottom of the B-pillar..
