Wheel options 120-130

I am looking for new wheels/tires for my 122 Wagon. My car is not going to be a stock restore, so I am looking for something a little wider.

I have stock brakes, so I assume my car is 5x4.25". Is that correct?

Does anyone have a list or is there a site that shows the bolt patterns and offsets of other more modern cars, so I can look for a deal on wheels and tires?

TIA

Wheel options 120-130

I tried many sizes, offsets, steel, mags, etc. It is easy to find wheels that will go on the car(5 on 4.5)but hard to find correct ones. I settled on Ranger 4-wheel drive wheels. I have 195-60r-15 tires on them. They have the larger center hole which will accomadate the large front bearing housing of the 122. Here is how they look on the car. They are painted alloy rims and are much lighter than the stock steelies and most other mags. http://www.pbase.com/turborg/virgo_wheels
One mistake I made in my quest was to fit tires on the front, but when tried on the back, they rubbed on the lower control arm. To get a wide tire on the back, the offset will put the tire outside the fender lip. this is not really a problem unless you want to lower the car.

A great place to find the 5 X 4.5's that you need is tire rack. As others have already stated, look out for your offsets.

It's a 5x4.5 bolt circle.

Ford and Chrysler rear wheel drive. Pay attention to the offset; it should be about +25mm (1 inch). Front wheel drive wheels will work with a custom spacer but you will need to install longer studs if you go that route.

Go with aftermarket. Minilites look really good on a 1960-something of any make. American Racing has Torq-Thrust reproductions in 15, 16, and 17" versions. Watch out for rim width though; too wide and the tires will rub unless you are willing to pound the inner tub into submission.

Is it 5x4.5 or 5x4.25??

I'm seeing both mentioned out there as I do searches.

ALL 122s had 4.5" bolt circle like Chrysler, Ford, etc.
140/164 and LATER 1800s and most later Volvos had 4.25" bolt circle.
That's why you can't interchange early and late wheels.
To make it more confusing there are 140/164 wheels that are dead ringers for the 122 wheels but have the smaller bolt circle.

The info offered by sdewolfe is correct---5x4.5. I had a '64 122 wagon on which I mounted a set of Mustang GT/Torino GT (mid 1960's) chrome 14 inch 12 slot rims. On a 122S two door I used a set of American Racing 15 inch 5 spoke mags. I always thought both worked/looked good. You are being confused by the fact that 140's on up and the 1800E/ES use a 108mm (4.25 inch) lug spacing. -- Dave

Thanks guys!

5x4.5 offers a lot more options to choose from, which is nice.

whatever you find... test fit.

Offset, and brake caliper clearance are your biggest issues.
