I have a '94 940T.
The crank nose went bad (long, sordid story) & I am replacing it.
When retightening the rod bolts (angle tightened) I felt a few "give" (feeling of less torque required to turn them).
Is this normal or are they now toast?
Should I just replace all the rod bolts since they have been stretched once at the initial build?

according to arp company.......they make headbolts and high quality bolts for special torque applications they recommend tightening and loosening each bolt up to 5 times before applying the final tightening under torque.
they state that scientific evidence proves that new bolts even with lubricant used require about 5 tightening/loosening repetitions BEFORE all inherent friction of the new bolt threads is equalized allowing for the final torque to be accurate.

Howdy,
Torque to yield (15 ft/lb + 90 degrees) fasteners are not meant to be reused. Remember to oil the threads before tightening.
