Thank you for the information. If anyone gets a price on the Cohline hose please let us know. I'd be in for several meters of the stuff if the price was right. Volvo wants $86 just for this one hose. Can anyone tell me how to fit the banjo fitting onto this type of hose. I have the old section to practice with! ---rick

I have continued to investigate the fuel lines. I found a source for the correct hose. (See an earlier post to this thread.)
The material is polyamide. The ID is 3.14, the outside is 6mm. The proprietor of Unobtainium Products assures me that it will fit. He has sold it to the Ferrari crowd for awhile now. The ID of the OE lines on the Ferrari is 2mm (Art measured the hose ID as 2.14 on one of his K-jet cars.) Cohline told him that either the 2 ID or the 3.14 ID will fit the original pipes and banjos with a pressure proof seal.
I was measuring the lines on my car today when I found one of the hoses cracked. The crack is hidden by the clamp on the head. I should have seen it; that clamp was really clean. ;-)
That clamp is in the area that bends when you lift the fuel distributor to get to the air filter on the K-jet turbo cars. It holds the ends of the hoses at the metal pipes. Inspect that area closely before you decide you do not need to renew the hoses. The appearance is deceptive because there is an abrasion cover that hides the actual nylon line.
At any rate, I need to replace that line. It stands to reason that I need to renew all of them; they are all the same age. I am ordering 5 meters of the stuff. I am waiting for a price. I will let you know how much it costs me.
That will take care of the small lines. Now I need to find the feed hose from the filter to the distributor and the return line. They are both large but different sizes that Unobtainium Products does not carry.

Let me know if you need those large fuel lines... I have both the feed and return if you need them. Maybe take a day trip out to LaGrange and meet up...
I also know of one more set to be had in S.A. I might jump on those if you need the ones that I have...

So... Now that you've found the correct stuff (I'm tired of really old K-jet stuff from the PnP), how is it installed? Hot water and pushed on? Torch? Nothing but brute force?
And if someone want to do a group-buy, I'd be in for a bunch of the stuff...

It is probably metric and must hold pressures around 70 psi working. I have searched the internet and not even found the material type. Some k-jet cars Volvo, Audi, Mercedes, and BMW have steel lines that appear to be brazed to the fittings. Reading your post an idea pop into my head that a hydraulic supply shop may have what we need if we give them a sample of the line and fittings and the working pressure. Several here have had good luck getting power steering and ac lines this way and at a good price. Try looking for a Parker Hydraulics supplier in your area.

I have to make the leap from my 4-cyl to assume your lines are the same. I've looked at sixes in the yards before, so I'm pretty certain the fuel distributor is plumbed with the same fittings for the most part.
The lines are rubber covered nylon. I've been lucky enough to get what I need at the boneyards, because, unlike the other nylon fuel lines Volvo uses, I haven't been able to find off-the-shelf stock for the 2.4mm ID / 6mm OD nylon used under the hood in the K-jets. Closest I see is .093 Nylon 11 sold by McMaster-Carr, but its wall thickness is only 30% that of the original.
I've never heard of anyone replacing these lines with 30R9 neoprene, but the ID to fit the barb would be 3/32".

I followed a trail of links from the Ferrari Chat web board to this page:

It looks like the stuff. The manufacturer is a company named Cohline in Germany. They supply all kinds of tubing, hoses, and fittings. Carb guys note: they also make fabric covered fuel lines. It looks like Newcoproducts may be the only distributor in the USA.
Art, I did not see the 2.4/6 (id/OD) you mentioned listed in their product line. As close as they get is 3/5, rated at 33 bar with a bend radius of 25 mm and 2/4 rated at 44 bar with a bend radius of 20 mm, both with a wall thickness of 1mm. I think one or the other might work. The specification shows + or - .3 mm ID. See page 41 of the Cohline catalog.
Google DIN 73378 or DIN 74324; there are several hits in the UK from various manufacturers. I spent some time on those web sites. The smallest ID I saw was 3/16 inch.

Yes, I still supply fuel line restoration kits. I stock several Cohline
sizes, if they're what the Volvo uses, then I'll be happy to sell it. Sizes
I can supply are:
