last visit: Sat Nov 21 07:54 CST 2009[RELATED]Guess I had that computer/camera cable after all...
I'm not that fond of the wheels.. the look or construction. Steel wheels with a fake alloy thing plastered on them. No wonder American cars don't hole their value... OK.. I won't get into that.
In any event, I reckon these wheels will work for now... I'll add 1/4 inch spacers to bring 'em out a bit.
the big problem.. .this poor car has been resting and neglected for nearly two years, and.. although she started right up even with that old gas, the rust that's coming through makes me sad... the car looked ok when I got it, but.. it came from the *SALT* Lake City area...
I guess more on that later. For now, she's got four tires that hold air, and the cost was less than mount and balance... so, we's doin' ok.
Pay no mind to that dog.. she's just doing her happy dance thing.

last visit: Fri Nov 20 22:06 CST 2009[RELATED]That's a fine looking ride Matt! I own worse than that! I sure wouldn't quibble much about that extra half inch... As you well know those 4:56s can use little help, Eh?
As for the dog... welllllll? Looks like one of those should be standard on Amazon wagons... especially with a happy dance!!! That is a great picture. It's real pretty up there.
What happened to Dan's Monday reports? I miss them!

last visit: Sat Nov 21 07:54 CST 2009[RELATED]the fellow selling them erred on the tire size.. turned out they are 205/55-16, so.. actually a tad smaller in diameter than stock.. I realized that when I got them home. ah well, she's got overdrive...
You'll have to check with Dan on the weekly posts over there... basically though, not a lot of new things going on, so... most posts would be rather redundant...
Cheers...

last visit: Sat Nov 21 07:54 CST 2009[RELATED]thanks... that's only an inch, which is only 1/2" in radius... and 1/2" added ground clearance.. is a good thing where I come from... I don't care about speedometer error or any of that.. heck, it'd make it that more relaxed on the freeway anyhow.
If I get 'em and they work, I'll post pics...

last visit: Sat Sep 12 10:11 CST 2009[RELATED]If the rims are 16 inch, you will have less problems with caliper clearance than you would if the rims were smaller diameter. What is the offset of the original rims on your car? I don't think that caliper clearance will be your main issue, I'd worry about the tires rubbing on the inside against suspension components or against the inner fenders on the front wheels when making a turn...

last visit: Sat Nov 21 07:54 CST 2009[RELATED]The clearance issue isn't with the diameter.. rather, its the shape of the inside 'dish' of the wheel... 14" wheels fit fine, if they don't collide with calipers.
That said.. I did buy the stuff.. too cheap to pass up. $60 for a set of four wheels nearly new tires, already mounted and balanced. Granted, cheap wheels.. I won't go into my opinions on that..
And they do work. I'll probably add about 1/4" spacers... but it gave me an excuse to get the old wagon out of the woods.... more on that tomorrow
