Need to replace mounting (?) bracket for aftermarket A/C on 1980 240 wagon 200 1980

I've got an 1980 240DL wagon (ol' Blu) with the aftemarket A/C (installed in'82 by the dealer, I have the original service record) well apparently they had a certain kind of bracket that held the power steering pump and the A/C compressor. The bracket has distengrated and cracked so the pump/compressor and belts won't sit in alignment with the engine and they squeal like crazy! My mechanic says the bracket would be hard to find, and we don't have a local machinist trustworthy enough to make the part. We've already repaired the bracket once with a weld that lasted for five years, but think we should probably try something else this time. I heard we can upgarde to a 91,92,93 system if we can find the all the components and the bracket. Anyone have any experience with this issue?

I'm new to the forum so thanks for any help you can provide.
