B230 block useable? 200

I was given this 1993 940 turbo 100k miles as a parts car mainly due to head gasket issues, the last one lasted less than 5000 miles and was put on by a reputable shop.

Now I'm taking a crack at it (bad pun)

Others have suggested there is more institutional knowledge in the 200 forum on this subject. So here's the question.

The concern is the water jacket in #4 has eaten right up to the back of the cylinder wall in such a way the new head gasket is destine to fail. One local machine shop says yes and one, no. Any thought?
