Now I'm taking a crack at it (bad pun) Others have suggested there is more institutional knowledge in the 200 forum on this subject. So here's the question. The concern is the water jacket in #4 has eaten right up to the back of the cylinder wall in such a way the new head gasket is destine to fail. One local machine shop says yes and one, no.
