Some of the last things to do were keys to the doors and trunk. I work on a golf course as a mechanic and we have probably a hundred old keys in a bucket from equipment and locks from days past. While I was waiting for a reel to grind out I decided to start trying keys in my door locks after about 30-40 keys I found one that worked, it opens the door and trunk also locks it from the outside. The key fits perfectly no slop or jiggling just feels like it belongs to that cylinder. This saved me the expense of new locks and the work involved. For anyone's information in the same dilemma the key that fit was from a older gm door lock, it fits perfectly. Before I rebuilt the cylinders on my wagon, any key that was a decent fit would open the lock. The cylinder barrel is soft steel and wears out after 20-30 years. Don't want to rain on your parade but try some other close fit keys, if they to open the lock your cyls are worn. The blanks for my 122 (door/hatch only) are marked "hillman Y11". The Ign. is aftermarket. Cheers! I do not have a number on the key, but I am thinking it may work on other cars maybe the pattern is enough of a master key not sure.
