1988 240 DL Sedan
I see tail light assemblies for sale on Volvo World, Importec and IPS that range in cost form $92.30 to $147.47.
The lower price is No Name and the higher are APA.
Is anyone clued in what the variations are?

I don't like the quality of after market lights, good used OEM Valeo/Cibie are a better choice. The plastic melts at the bulb holders or the lenses fall out from poor glue quality. Dan

I think 88 to 93 use the same style. I got my 240 sedan with no name aftermarket tail lights and they are fine, no discoloration or melting. They are at least 5 years old. A few leaks were solved by prying off the lens, picking out the old caulk and resealing with black RTV.
If you want OEM, there are many on ebay at a good price.

Leaking tail lights are somewhat common in sedans in both OEM and aftermarket, from what I read. I have also read that they can’t be fixed. I had no problem prying off the lens after warming in the sun and re-sealing the two leaking lenses.
Like I said, the car came with new looking lenses. It had to have been replaced by the PO's PO dating it at 5 or 6 years. The tail lights have cutouts for a center running light along with the aftermarket flex board. Original taillights do not have the notches (or hole?) for a center lamp holder. I wish I knew the manufacturer. The PO had problems with the tail and brake lights. It just needed a new RH flex board and the correct lamp holders in the correct places.
Hopefully someone can give you an aftermarket name they had good luck with.

Have I been scammed?
Purchased replacement tail light assemblies from LampandLense.com.
The part references (1372226 [left] and 1372227 [right]) is the same as everywhere else but that number is not on the Lamp and Lense part.
The tail lights are by DJAUTO (out of Tiawan!!) with a product #TVV701 LH or RH.
I would not have bought these if I knew they came from China ... but you need to pull teeth to get parts suppliers to tell you what their parts are ... it seems to be a hide and seek game to camouflage price differences ... ??
FYI -- I got no hits for "Valeo/Cibie" (mentioned in other replay)
AND -- the DJAUTO product name and number are cast on the lense!
(At least they are willing to own the product)
ALSO --My original tail light assemblies is stamped "CBI 80 76 AA" "Made in France"

After less than a month the tail lights are showing moisture condensing on the inside of the lens.
