Oil pressure readings 700 1987

Hi folks,

I just got my oil pressure gauge working, after a couple weeks of waiting on an adapter for the M14 thread in the block (the front oil galley plug stripped out). Now there is a happy T connector with the switch and sender on the two ends. The gauge is a Sunpro electric gauge/sender that reads to 100 psi.

I have a question about my oil pressure readings. On a cold start, at idle, I read 65+ psi. For the first few minutes running at 35-45 mph I read between 60 and 75 psi, depending on RPM and load. When warm I see between 50 and 70 psi running at non-highway speeds, and 35 psi when stopped.

Is this normal?

Thanks,

Ari
