problem with center caps 200

ok i have 89 240 i put 940 wheels on them and they fit perfectly. the problem is the rear caps snap on the front ones do not , they snap on but they are not secure and if i push and the side the other side comes up out of place. any suggestions? the center hubs stick out more than the rear.

I just now read through the original thread.

Looks like you have two options, both probably workable. Tap down the grease caps. If that doesn't do the trick, shave off some material in the back side of the center caps. If you or a friend has a Dremel tool (hand held grinder) with a grinding or cutoff wheel that might be better than tin snips.

As for the 205 tires hitting - I think it shouldn't be an issue. My '89 245 has 205's on 15" steel wheels from 740 / 940 cars; those have the same 25 mm offset as your rims. I have no tire rubbing issues. However I wouldn't recommend 215 width tires as I think that might cause some interference.
