I just installed a new alternator in my 122, thought I would share. A previous owner had installed a mitsubishi alternator into the car. it was a 40 amp and didnt have enough juice to run my stereo ( not a massive one), lights and windshield wipers. Lately, the belt would slip and squeal when too much load was on it. I went to a local alternator rebuild shop and they made me a AC Delco 65 amp alternator and made it a one wire set up. even put on the same size pully as the old alternator so it would use same belt. The delco has a one point mounting on the bottom, but was too long to fit in my car. So I took a grinder and grinded it down to the right thickness. Grinded to fit fit right in. It also used the same upper adjustment bracket.Installed Now all of my lights are brighter, and it seems to run smoother. All is good and only cost $55.00.
