last visit: Fri Oct 23 21:43 CST 2009[RELATED]i found gas in the vacuum line fron the little fuel pressure thing on top of the engine, i think i read somewhere that means i need a new one of those? is it a fuel pressure regulator?

last visit: Sat Nov 21 19:47 CST 2009[RELATED]You might wish to check the hose from the manifold to the power brake booster, and the check valve on the booster, along with the grommet that the valve fits into. If you are having a rough idle on start up, this would be a monster leak. Do you have cruise control? Check the vacuum dump valve on the brake pedal too. I'm sure that Art will come up with something that will make these suggestions sound foolish, but that is the best that I can come up with.

No, Bill, I'm with you there. In fact, the subject of the thread had me looking to see if that brake hose might be mentioned. I've had one split (not lengthwise, but across its embrittled diameter) just back of the manifold nipple where it is really hard to see.
In my case, I was able to cut off the split part and still have it reach OK, but I sure don't have anything around the shop that size and capable of vacuum. Dealer item maybe?
It does sound like his fuel pressure regulator is the urgent need at the moment.
