Intermittent Car-Wide Electrical Failure 200

Ladies and Gents:

My venerable 1990 240 is experiencing intermittent failure of the entire electrical system while running.

Like a very fast blinking on and off. The engine, headlights, dash, radio, wipers, SRS system...everything cuts out...then back on. This happens while the car is rolling along, at a stop light, or when in park.

I figured this was the classic ignition switch failure and replaced that with the Volvo part this weekend. No change (except in my available cash supply).

The alternator/battery puts out a comfortable 14+ volts during operation, 12.5 or so when off.

The battery and battery connections are recently cleaned and reassembled.

I plan on pursuing:

-engine grounds,
- chassis ground by the battery,
-ground by the shifter,
-pull and clean all the fuses.

Any other ideas? Thanks for your help and Merry Christmas to all!
