When you reach the end of the table, just start over again at the first column.
There is a much better schedule (out to 200,000 miles) with procedures for every maintenance evolution available from the UK Volvo Owners Club. I don't think you need to join to access the pdf files available on this page:

I'm thinking of using it also on some rust on my '80 242DL. Have you gone far enough with it to have an opinion on its value? Probably could save a lot of money if it works. Thanks.

I've used their basic anti-rust coating as well as thicker formulas used for undercoating and filling seams. They also make good epoxys and other body fillers. Just make sure that the directions are followed to the letter.
POR-15 along with new sheet metal has probably saved my car from a premature trip to the junk yard. The nice thing about doing body work is that the car will still run even if you screw up. I'm thankful for that!

last visit: Fri Sep 3 20:25 CST 2010[RELATED]POR-15 is everything it claims to be, if used as directed. BTW, there is an almost identical product called Chassis Coat (I think) which is cheaper, and appears to be the exact same stuff, even down to the instructions and warnings.

The large rear control arm bushing in the front suspension.
The rear trailing arm and torque rod bushings in the rear suspension.

In the mean time consider making this tool for about $20 to replace the rear trailing arm bushings.

last visit: Fri Sep 3 20:25 CST 2010[RELATED]Why worry? In the next one or two hundred thousand miles, yes, the engine may need rebuilt, or the tranny might crap out, but so what? You've already gotten twice the life out of your car that most people do, at this point, just keep up with normal maintenance and when (if) something catastophic happens, ask yourself - has this car served me well enough to drop a thousand or two dollars on an engine or tranny so that I can drive it another 25 years?
What to expect over the next 100,000 miles depends on how you've treated the car up until now. If you ave taken good care of it and been easy on it, you can probably expect a fairly trouble free time until something big goes. Maybe a little oil burning with some engine wear, or the tranny starting to slip - maybe not.

last visit: Wed Aug 25 06:41 CST 2010[RELATED]I don't entirely agree with that approach. I think it's when you get to that mileage is when it becomes especially worthwhile servicing things properly.
Change the gearbox and axle oils. Drop the sump pan on the overdrive and clean the wire mesh, and unscrew the finer filter housing and wash out the gauze.
Change and flush the steering fluid pump and reservoir.
Put a few drops of oil into the water pump breather hole.
Lubricate the drive shaft bearing, and grease the universal and sliding joints if you can (unscrew plugs and put in grease nipples).
At the next timing belt change, remove the tensioner and give it a few drops of oil.
Clean out the crankcase breather system, flame trap, small orifice in the inlet manifold, and look critically at the pipework - it can block up or delaminate on the inside.
Check that there are no oil leaks from the crank, intermediate and especially the camshaft seals. Oil leaking from the cm shaft seal is especially critical, because it can get on the timing belt or the waterpump rubber seal.
Drain and back-flush the cooling system from the tap on the engine block, and refill using corrosion inhibitor.
Check that the in-tank fuel pump really is running.
