I still think it comes down to usage. Obviously the hyped-up monstrosities from Caddy, BMW and the like should be taxed up the wazoo. They have no practical USE. With certain others there should be a grey area, I think. My father had a Suburban for years, long before marketing hacks created the SUV. There was nothing luxurious about it, that's for sure- but that thing could haul a lot of sheetrock. If he wanted to haul sheetrock AND have A/C and power-seats, what's the harm? I see a BIG difference between guys like my old man and a social-climbing suburbanite (so to speak) who uses a Navigator to tote groceries twice a month.
