240, A timeless design, at least in many people's minds?

Well, I suppose they were "expensive"- the paperwork for my '78 lists the price at $7200, on par with some Lincolns and Chryslers.

But I don't see how a Volvo could possibly cost more to run and maintain than Detroit's gas-gargling, gremlin-ridden mammoths of the same vintage.
