I am with you on this, fossil or not. I had one of those 225 slant six's in a Valiant that always started in the winters of Buffalo NY. Of course the 65, PV544 was the best car I ever owned.
I grew up in a "car family" and went to the car shows every year and collected the literature on everything there. I wish I had that stuff today as there would be some real gems in the collection. I can't imagine going to a new car show today as most cars very boring to look at.
To me, a car has to be good looking first, then have all the other attributes that are important like safety, performance, reliability, etc. What I miss the most, as foolish as it may seem, is fenders. Now you see my love of the 544, and I finally got another one about a year ago.
