Trial in NYC

Hmmm. Should McVeigh have been tried in a military court? What about the Waco Texas mess? Citizens of the US have been known to have declarations of war against the US, and they were tried in civilian courts.

Right now we have laws on the books over terrorist acts that cover a wide variety of activities. Anything from gang violence to Peta attacks blowing up barns have fallen under these laws. Because I can see a real argument to call the acts in question a form of terrorism, the problem now exists that we are using laws meant to deal with international terrorist threats against our sovereignty to deal on domestic issues.

How long before we find that such military courts can then apply to domestic issues of violence decried as terrorism? When will US citizens get hauled into a military court? I fear that would open the floodgates for all time to any sitting administration to destroy what remains of our rights as citizens and our existence as a civilian, not a military nation.
