I meant that water filled a low or sagging portion of a gas pipe in the ground, seeping in through a cracked fitting at the main where my house line was connected, first lowering my volume of gas going to appliances and finally after a few months blocking the pipe so gas could not flow through it and none of my apliances were getting gas. It was a gradual process. The first thing I noticed odd was a pilot light on my stove going out once in awhile, and of course I thought it was just getting blown out by a draft, but eventually when enough water filled the line the pilots for all of my gas appliances would not light. I was not talking about crud from inside an old pipe clogging the line. Sorry that I was not clearer.
