I am interested in what you posted and I think this goes far deeper than just this and is far more complicated. I saw an interesting interview on YouTube and I wanted to post it when I answered you. I just haven't re-found it.

Maybe the real question is not so much are the spooks misleading the media, but who are the people pushing the spooks to mislead the media? Somebody is telling the spooks to do it. Some are complicit because they are like Stickbuilder or 03V; ideologues who think the end justifies the means just as long as its their end and means. Some are not complicit, and they can pay a very high price that could go being drummed out. Remember how John Ashcroft was pressured on his hospital bed over things like warrantless wiretapping?

This is why I absolutely disagree with the idea that the CIA or FBI or any sort of undercover force should be given the reins to do whatever they want to supposedly keep us safe. That has a very easy way of getting a lot of entirely innocent civilians killed including Americans.

I disagree with you that this is somehow non partisan in its discussion. My Uncle jokes that the difference between a conservative and a liberal is that the conservative hasn't had his/her rights violated yet. There is some truth in that statement. Again, look at the forum resident super conservatives and their view, versus that of you, or Snoot in these types of discussions.
