New York isn't the US Tony. I have never known a teacher that made 6 figures.

If we'd cut our military budget by half and invested that money in teacher compensation, the profession would attract and retain better qualified people. As a result we'd end up with a better educated population. That would improve our economic competitiveness vis-à-vis Europe and Asia and result in a voter population comprising fewer TonyHs, 03Vs, Jorrells and Stickies, and that might just lead to a sensible foreign and domestic policies. ;-)
