It is sad to think that I am the age I am, and missed so much in actually knowing my history, or knowing more about it, at least.
Reading a new book - Hamilton's Curse; DiLorenzo.
In understanding the animosity between Jefferson and Hamilton as founding fathers; and reading of the convention adopting Jefferson's (and others) model for the Constitution; and then reading and understanding events that brought us to living under Hamilton's model today - I have to ask -
Could a country today thrive under Jefferson's state's rights model, with limited central government - as was the intent of the Constitution - or was it just a pipe dream that never had a chance of actually working?
