Indeed!!!! This presidential fight might bring the whole theocracy down too! Note that the clerics are beginning to choose sides. The suppressed opposition by the modernists and secular elements has been constrained a very long time. The hardliners are only stoking the fires of change by their harsh and oppressive tactics. For my money, Mousavi is just more of the same. I'm not convinced that, in the end, the people of Iran may just get a little grit in their gizzards and take back their country!! If, for a change, we stand by our national values of freedom and keep our nose out, change may be nurtured. I think the president is taking a pragmatic and non reactionary path. Nice change!! If our rhetoric remains as it is going... unshaded moral support for human rights, The freedom loving people of Iran may respond in a positive way. there can be a place for friendship between the peoples of the US and IRAN. I'm thinking of Robert Frost and "The Road Not Taken" Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. I still consider the jury out on the President... I'm willing to give him more leeway.
