Can Taxpayers Actually Expect a Profit on the Bailout?

> Time will surely tell, but he may know something we don't.

Yep. It's just like the march to war. I heard this kind of logic a hundred times and from intelligent, informed people. We're talking about people with access to massive amounts of intelligence! Surely they know just how threatening this is. You can look for yourself, go back to that debate on this very forum.

Here again most of us know little about what's going on. So surely these wizards know. Why is it then that so many economists, some of them recognized globally, think this is not a necessary measure? And why is it that this people have no voice in the media? Must be chance, huh?

They've worn us down. They've found out how willing we are to support the team, even if the ideas fundamentally offend our nature. We'll accept a war we don't need and can't afford. "Go team!" We'll accept a police state with massive surveillance. "Probably necessary in these crazy times, no?" We'll accept becoming a rogue state that kidnaps and tortures people, often based on weak evidence. "If there's smoke there's fire, right?" And now we'll accept becoming the peasant class that toils only to pay the debts of those who rule us (actually we'll only be able to pay the interest on the debt soon). "These guys are financial wizards who just had a bad year, I guess. Next year will be better."
