Five years four plus months of silence from our government on the subject. One can not help but be a tad cynical about the timing of the whole deal. Lessee...the government that allowed the hostages to remain in the hands of the Colombian rebels is up for reelection. Our nation is in kind of a bad way. Rescue the hostages, sure thing! Let's have Mr McCain in Colombia when it happens, and maybe some liberal too for window dressing. BTW, John, learn to spell the name of the country you are going to visit. Who's your proof reader?
