I changed over to synth with the two newer cars. But I was surprised at how many comments there were about switching over on older engines. My Highlander has the 4 cylinder motor with 109K miles on it. Oil changes have been done every 5K or earlier (per manual). I have heard that after many miles, doing the switch may cause a rod to spin or bring other havoc with the engine. Am I hearing it's ok to switch over older engines too????????
