Now that this Political stump has quietend down and those who have suggested it are embarrassed of a cheap vote bagging attemt, let me share a Roadbuilders prospective.
You didn't hear much whining from the Roadbuilding Industry about cutting the Gas Tax, for one we knew it was Political cheap at the face and didn't make much noise about it so we didnt want to sound like the "dont hurt us Crowd".
Actually we were "for" a Gas Tax Cut. The need for fixing roads doesnt go away, it has to be done so its going to happen.
What could Go Away or be Cut is the Bearuocaratic nonsence that it takes to maintain roads, that the area that would take the hit from a Gas Tax Holliday, thats the pigs trough. Thick files makes a lousy roadbed, we need to use less paper and more Brick & Morter.
