Months ago I posted about buds on trees, a fresh smell in the wind and mating skunks. You realists set me straight. That and a couple more feet of snow. Now it must be time. Peepers, catkins on the popples. Pussy willows. Maple sugar season is over, and it is time to move on. Cut some daffies for the table. Ought to make the LP cheery when she gets home.
Got the winter wheels off some of the cars yesterday. Put away the snow blower this morning and got out the rototiller. Opened up the beehives to assess the health of my colonies...(one excellent and trying to swarm, the other weak, just about out of food, but hatching out new bees to beat the band) Could be another good honey yield this year.
Ought to start planting chard, spinach and lettuce, but the end of the day is coming on, and I am tired. A good kind of tired that I haven't felt for months.
