Stupid Rebate

I have to vent and ask of others feel as though I do. I am 30 years old, Have a nice 2 bath 3 bed room home, Have a great job with a community Hospital in Managment and make just a little under 50K per year. I have a wounderful wife, 2 kids 3 1\2 years old and 1 1\2 years old. We have made decisions that allow my wife to stay at home with our children while they are young.

Last year the Great USofA paid me to be a citizen. We of course don't have a huge income, replaced all of our windows and door last year with high effecency ending in a tax credit, and of course the tax credit for the kids.

The killer here is that It appears that I will get a rebate in May. Why? We are conservative fincailly drive two old volvos and feel very comfortable with our finanical position in life. We save for retirement, kids college and major replacement items.

WHy should I get an additional tax rebate? Put this money into the kids healthcare program bush vetoed. Put this do something about the falling value of the dollar. Giving folks 1800 bucks to by cheap china crap at wal-mart is not a long term fix.

What does everyone else think? Please ad your thoughts.

Thanks,

Peter
