I've been to Cuba which, I am sure most of you have not. I am sure that the medical facilities in the film are the best they have. I am sure we would do the same if a film was being made here. Most people can't afford to go to the Mayo Clinic. Some people have to make use of L.A. County hospital.
Cuba has a lower infant mortality than we do. I am very observant, and know that regular Cubans are, for the most part, isolated from Americans. But this was at the government institute for the Arts. It was very easy to tramp around town, and even take pictures with my 4x5" camera and tripod.
But I digress. The film is not only about Cuba. He visits the medical industry in France, Britain, and Canada also. I have traveled all over Europe and seen first hand how their medical systems work. I have a friend who was seriously injured in Britain; (she look the wrong way when she crossed the street) her pelvis and leg sustained multiple fractures. Everything was covered, even though she wasn't a citizen.
I am not friend of Micheal Moore. I dislike his grandstanding, and i didn't like his other films. But, this film has a lot to think about. I never thought you were a man with a closed mind. I thought you wanted to know how other people feel, and learn about their experiences in the medical system here. I feel with a very expensive problem I know more than most here about the medical system.
Please, please have an open mind and see the movie despite Michael Moore.
