Stop blaming the US. It is a home grown problem.

"You don't think there is poverty in this country?"
Different problem and off-topic.

It's not the homeless that has taken up gun violence as a method of establishing themselves in their community. Maybe in the US, but not in Toronto.

"Beneath your words are a seething, reactionary anger that is apparent to anyone who is not hypnotized by the right wing noise machine."
On the contrary. I'm cool with it. We are a multicultural society. Some cultures are more prone to violence and gang formation than others. That is their choice.

Eg. Not too long ago, a leader of a community was murdered. The community considered him to be a friendly decent guy. However, he was a gang leader, drug dealer and father of many children by different women. Reason he got murdered was he was turning in his competitors to the police in order to establish his dominance.

Another common example. A male youth gets gunned down. At the funeral the preacher, parents, friends say we was a good guy. (And wail that this killing has to stop.) Yet he was "known to police" for his gang affiliation, drug dealing and possible involvement in shootings. Plus though not married, he's left behind kids.

"Open your eyes."
Read my other posts in this thread. Perhaps it is I who am seeing the bigger picture while it is you who are wearing the blinders?
